October 2004
Joe and I are getting settled in our new home in Shallowater. Since most of
you won't ever have the opportunity to visit us here, I thought I would
include some pictures of the house so you can have a "virtual tour."
Welcome
to our new home! Sophie enjoyed playing in her pool on the driveway, as we
did not have grass planted at first. Since this picture was taken Joe has
planted grass, and it is thriving with a little help from the sprinkler. As you enter our new home, you walk into a long living room area. This photo shows more of the entire room than any of the other pictures. You will notice the doors going out to the patio in the back. To the right you can see one of my two desks which I use for Hanna Publications. The roll top is nice in the living room because I can close it over all the clutter.
The china cabinet is to the left as you enter the front door of the house. Joe bought it for me after we moved here, and it is nice to be able to display my antique dishes and other pretties.
In the kitchen there is a shelf above the cabinets on which I have placed the navy and white dishes Angie and Eric gave me over the years. The tea kettle on the left end is the one Angie and Eric's Mom had picked out for me for Christmas 2003, and Eric went ahead and gave it to me. He is a very special part of our family.
Here is my office, with the second desk, which I use for Hanna Publications. There are four tall bookcases with the books I sell, as well as one short one and shelves in the closet area.
Sophie loves her playroom at Grandma and Grandpa's house. She knows how to build things with Duplos, but sometimes we help her. She is also learning how to cut and paste! Sophie enjoys playing with PlayDoh in our garage at her picnic table. She likes to use molds to make food, so recently I bought her a new set with a small kitchen range and table, as well as several food molds.
Above my desk in the living room is a plaque I
had given Angie years ago. Angie put this into practice in her life. May we
all do likewise.
